History of city Alytus in photos
A small historical reference
Alytus - the center of Alytus county, located in the south of Lithuania, on both banks of the Neman River, in Dzukija. The first written mention - 1377. Previous name - Olita. June 15, 1581 the city received from King Stefan Batory Magdeburg Law. In 1890 Olita became a fortress of the third class of the Russian Empire.
