A small historical reference
Gomel - center of Gomel district and the Gomel region, the second largest population, located in the south-east of the country on the river Sozh. Date of establishment and the first written mention - 1142. In 1670 Gomel received Magdeburg Law.
The largest scientific and industrial center - 126 industrial companies, 7 universities, 18 vocational schools, 6 colleges, 7 colleges. Health (neighborhood "Medgorodok") - Cardiology Clinic, Oncology Center, Skin and Venereal Diseases Dispensary of departmental hospital in the Gomel station Gomel Center of Eye Microsurgery, City Clinical Hospital № 2, Central Clinical Hospital (GTSGKB) and others.
