A small historical reference
Kokand - city in Ferghana region, located in eastern Uzbekistan. The first written mention of the village Kavakend - X century. Earlier names - Qala-Rahim Bii, Eski-Kurgan, Hvokin, Kangyuy Kangha, Havokand, Hukand. The town was founded on the site of four settlements - Kalvak, Aktepe, Eski-Kurgan and Hokand. Since 1709 - the capital of the eponymous khanate.
Lost historical values - brick bridge Gisht- Kuprik and Derezlik; 12 gates with the names of the direction of the road, where they were:
Northern - Sarymazarskie, Gandzhirovanskie, Namangan;
South - Sokh, Kataganskie, Isfara;
Western - Khujand, Kuduklukskie, Gaza-Yaglykskie;
Eastern - Rishtan, Chimionskie, Margilan.
