A small historical reference

Valmiera - the city of republican subordination, located in the north-east of Latvia, on the banks of the river Gauja. The first written mention - 1323. March 30, 1491, the city had signed an agreement Volmarskoe. From 1819 to 1949. - The administrative center of the county Volmarskogo.
