A small historical reference
Goris - town in the Syunik region of Armenia, located in the southeastern part of the country, on the river Goris - a tributary of the Vorotan. Known for census since 1870, as well as historical maps of Karabakh khanate 1809-1817, entitled Geryusy, Goryusy, Gerus. Near Goris Khndzoresk village on the left bank of the river Goris - a complex of natural caves, which were used as dwellings and the Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum.
Attractions - near the city is one of the most beautiful monasteries in Armenia - Tatev.
